Throggs Neck – Longstreet Colony


This page is to help document the cats and kittens of Throggs Neck’s Longstreet area. Our goal is to TNR (trap-neuter-return) the cats to help stabilize the colony and identify any cats that may be socialized for adoption. Neutering and spaying helps the cats stay healthier and minimizes mating behaviors like fighting, spraying, and yowling.

I helped TNR 4 cats in 2019, but since the COVID pandemic, many more cats appeared or migrated to this area so I returned and worked with the local feeders and caretakers, who learned to TNR the cats. I reached out to PuppykittyNYCity Rescue who I volunteer with and Positive Tails who both helped with getting several cats spayed/neutered. I also found out another rescue Bronx Colony Cats was also working to TNR the kitties and we started to collaborate to help these cats. Below are the kitties that have all been recently TNR’d or rescued.
